After booking 3 months prior to the event, my evening at Duck and Waffle finally came around. For anyone that is not familiar, Duck and Waffle is an restaurant based on the 40th floor in the heart of Moorgate. The views from this restaurant are definitely part of the attraction. And what makes this even better is that it is now open 24/7 so you can get those awesome night time and summer sunrise city vistas.
You make your way up the building in the exterior glass lift – I am ashamed to say (at 24) I still had to shut my eyes while going up! We arrived slightly early and were assorted to a table at the bar where we ordered our first cocktail. Moments later we were whisked off to our table.
I had the lime cocktail (£14) which was a sweet and sour gin based drink.
For starter I had tederstem broccoli with hen eggs, hollandaise sauce and parmesan shavings (£9). Annie has foie gras brulee with bacon bread (£13). Both starters were top notch!
For the mains, there was only one choice: the duck and the waffle (£17)!All in all it was an expensive night (about £40 a head) but it is definitely worth the price for the views and the food combination. I would rate it a 8.5/10 and somewhere you should visit if you have a special occasion coming up.
